Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 April 2026 · Effective immediately
This Privacy Policy describes how Grooviz("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Scuttlemobile game (the "App") on iOS and Android. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
The data controller for the App is Grooviz. You can reach us at dev@grooviz.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
The App does not require an account. You do not create a profile, log in, or provide a name or email address to play. The only direct interaction is if you choose to email us at dev@grooviz.com, in which case we will see whatever you put in your message.
Information collected automatically
When you use the App, the following information may be collected by us or by the third-party SDKs we embed:
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Device identifiers | Mobile advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, AAID on Android), device model, OS version, locale, timezone | AdMob, app analytics, OS |
| App activity | Levels played, crashes, performance traces | Crash & analytics SDK |
| Approximate location | Country / region inferred from IP address | AdMob (for ad serving) |
| Network info | IP address, network type | Ad SDK, billing SDK |
| Purchase records | Whether you have unlocked the "Remove Ads" purchase | Apple App Store / Google Play billing |
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or microphone or camera input.
3. How we use information
- To run the App and remember your in-game progress on your device.
- To verify the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase via Apple's or Google's billing systems.
- To show advertising (unless you have purchased ad removal) and to allow you to receive a hint or skip in exchange for watching a rewarded video.
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability.
- To respond to you if you email us.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Our legal bases under GDPR are: (a) contract — to provide the App you requested; (b) consent— for personalized advertising in the EEA/UK, gathered through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent screen; and (c) legitimate interests — to fix crashes and prevent fraud.
4. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy, which governs how it processes your data:
- Google AdMob — advertising. Google's ads privacy policy.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) — EEA/UK consent management. Same policy as above.
- Apple App Store / Google Play Billing — in-app purchases. See Apple's policy and Google's policy.
- Crash & analytics SDK (e.g., Firebase Crashlytics) — used for crash diagnostics. See Firebase's privacy.
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
5. Advertising & AdMob
The App displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its mediation partners may use your mobile advertising identifier and other device information to:
- Show ads (including rewarded video, interstitial, and banner formats).
- Limit the number of times you see the same ad.
- Measure the effectiveness of ads.
- Show ads more relevant to you (only with your consent in regions where consent is required).
Personalized vs. non-personalized ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another region where consent is required, we present a Google-certified consent screen (the User Messaging Platform) the first time you open the App. You can choose between personalized ads, non-personalized ads, or to manage individual partner choices. You can change your choice at any time from the in-game Settings menu.
Opting out of advertising ID tracking.
- iOS:Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and toggle off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" (or deny tracking when prompted).
- Android:Settings → Google → Ads → "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalization".
For more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services, visit policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6. Children's privacy
Scuttle is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is rated for general audiences and does not appeal to a child audience by design. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact dev@grooviz.com and we will delete it promptly.
The App complies with Google Play's Families policy and Apple's Kids category guidelines to the extent applicable. We do not target advertising based on a profile of any user under 13 / 16.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding the information we or our third-party providers hold about you:
- Access — request a copy of your information.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Erasure — request deletion of your information.
- Restriction or objection — limit how we process your information.
- Portability — receive your information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent — at any time, where processing is based on consent (e.g., personalized ads).
To exercise any of these rights, email dev@grooviz.comwith the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA):You have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. The use of advertising identifiers for cross-context behavioural advertising may be considered "sharing" under the CCPA — you can opt out by following the steps in section 5 above or by emailing us.
EEA/UK residents: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority if you believe we have not handled your information lawfully.
8. Data retention
Game progress is stored only on your device and is removed if you delete the App. Crash logs are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days. AdMob retains advertising data per Google's retention policy. Email correspondence is retained as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed through the App. However, no electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
The third-party providers we use may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, those providers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the App or on this page before the changes take effect.
